Nathaniel Bronner Jr. has a varied business life and set of experiences.
He is the first black student to graduate from Eckerd College with a degree in chemistry and a current member of The Society of Cosmetic Chemists.
He began with his father’s company, Bronner Bros. after graduating from college. After working in the accounting department for one year, he opened up the manufacturing division of Bronner Bros. At the time Bronner Bros. had $200,000.00 a year of products sales that were private-labeled.

The Bronner Brothers were the recipients of the 2014 Trumpet Award in Entrepreneurship.

In today's episode, I talk with Michaelle Evan about Licensed Hairstylist vs. Unlicensed Hairstylist. I love this conversation because the information shared comes from someone who has been on both sides of the industry and has seen with her own eyes, the benefit, pros, and cons of both sides.
Michaelle also leaves us with some good tips about how you can ensure your safety as an unlicensed hairstylist and how you can also learn to keep your clients safe.

"A Safe Space For Black Girls" with Niani Barracks
Monday Jun 07, 2021
Monday Jun 07, 2021
Welcome back to another episode. Today's episode is all about creating "A Safe Space For Black Girls That Never Learned How To Braid".
Niani is the creator and founder of "A Safe Space For Black Girls That Never Learned How To Braid". She came up with the idea to teach mothers how to braid their daughter's hair. She felt as if many mothers were having to decide if they were getting their hair done this week or their daughter, and with many children not knowing how to care for their hairstyles, Niani felt that mothers should not have to choose between visits to the salon.
Her original idea was to hold in-person workshops teaching mothers how to braid their daughter's hair, but COVID-19 interrupted those plans. Niani thought quickly and decided to teach braiding classes virtually for just $5 biweekly. Her idea went viral and since then she has been a feature on several media platforms such as New York TIme and Good Morning America.

Skill Sets I've Learned as a Natural Hair Stylist
Monday May 31, 2021
Monday May 31, 2021
Today's episode is all about the steps I took to grow myself in the beauty industry. Growth comes in many different ways. I was a shy kid growing up and of course I would be comfortable around people I knew but because of my speech impediment I hid, kept quiet, and would rather not be seen or heard by others because of the fear of being judged and rejected, and if not careful those thoughts and mindset could have prevented my growth and development. Instead, I was intentional about my growth with the following 4 actions:
- Become the person you want to become
- Set time aside to grow your knowledge base in your industry
- Communicate
- Get out of your comfort zone
Check out the episode and share with me things you do intentionally to grow as a person.

"What Beauty School Did Not Teach You" Part 3

This is the last episode in the series "What Beauty School Did Not Teach You". In the episode, I talk about the difference between cosmetologists and natural hair stylists and how they approach hairstyling. I take us through a quick chemistry lesson that will help you understand how product application, hairstyling, and the rearranging of textures break certain bonds within the hair.
I also share quick tips on how to identify safe products from not-so-safe products that are on the market. In today's world, natural hair products can contain tons of chemicals that are more harmful to the body that it is good.

In today's episode, I go over the fundamental natural hairstyles that will get you on the track to becoming a well-rounded stylist and natural hairstylist. The styles that I cover are the basics and foundation of natural hair styling.
I also discussed how normalizing natural hairstyles is so important. Textured hair is beautiful. It's Art and being proud of our crown is what we need to embrace more.
Society has told us long enough that "natural hairstyles are not professional or inappropriate" yet, you see more and more people starting to embrace health and well-being and with that, awareness of our crown is also included.

Hey! Thanks for tuning in to today's episode. Many of you know that my passion is natural hair and I love teaching it as much as I love to cultivate it. As a beauty school owner, cosmetologist, and natural hair stylist I have seen many students enter the real world not adequately prepared to handle textures hair.
I have made it my mission to step in and fill the gap by providing natural hair education to beauty school students, salon pros, and anyone with the passion to learn more about natural hair care.
Over the next few weeks, I am going to share with you information about natural hair that traditional beauty schools are not teaching. I will share your education and tips that will help you on your journey as a natural hairstylist.

Today's episode is an introduction to "What Beauty School Did Not Teach You" series. Natural Hair Education is my specialty. Over the next few weeks, I will share with you important things I feel every beauty school student should know before they graduate. Many students are paying thousands of dollars and enter the industry ill-prepared. Natura hair is a growing topic and many schools are still lagging in this area.
Let me help you on your beauty school journey. Grab your beauty school friends, instructors, and school owners and have them tune in to hear "What Beauty School Did NOT Teach You" Series.

Hey, y'all! Today's guest is a very special one. It's my mother, "Corinthian Carouthers".
This episode is all about honoring her and her story. For those that don't know, my mother is the founder of Creative Hair School of Cosmetology. This year, we will celebrate 22 years as a black-owned beauty school. We offer several programs such as cosmetology, esthetics, manicuring, and natural hair.
In this episode, my mother shares her journey of becoming a beauty professional and a beauty school ower.
My mother was born and raised in Chicago, IL, and has always been a fashionista! She attended beauty school because she realized she was paying tons of money to other stylists and wanted to be able to save money. Her journey to beauty school opened up new doors that Corinthian did not realize was possible.
