This is the first episode where we break down Pillar #1 the Body!
There are so many ways we can support our bodies, but how do we start implementing and following through on positive behaviors when our emotions and feeling get in the way of that? Doing one thing such as changing your posture can help change your mood and possibly give you the energy needed to work on you.
I chose the Body to be the first pillar in Queendom Care Series because it is where our inner BEing lives, it's our temple while here on Earth. However, women, being the natural caretakers and nurturers that we are, don't always do the best at self-care.
In this episode, I cover 6 ways you can implement self-care. Be sure to create a schedule that fits YOU in your calendar.
Here are 6 ways to incorporate self-care for the Body:
- Exercise- Walking, running, yoga, boxing, aerobics, and at-home workouts are different ways to dedicate to our health and body. There are many activities you can do to help build muscle, which in return helps the body sustain. My brother created 9 exercise movements that will support your body's range of motions and overall longevity. Those seven movements are 1. Push, 2. Pull. 3. Bend, 4. Twist, 5. Lunge, 6. Squat, 7. Gait, 8. Carry and 9. Crawl We all use those activities daily and he has created workouts that will help support our lifestyle. Learn more here!
- Breath- Taking in deep inhales and exhales. Breathing intentionally helps relieve stress and tension in the body. Also, saying "thank you" to your heart, lungs, and kidneys.
- Massage- Getting regular massages, help relieve tension in the body as well as help in workout recovery. If you stand or sit for long periods of time, I'm sure you can use a massage here and there to help ease the tension in your body.
- Nutrition- We are what we eat is a true statement. In this episode, I explain how I prepare to make better food choices. It's easy to eat unhealthy, but when you make better choices for your body and inner health, you feel good overall and is like to continue to make better choices.
- Rest- Do not run yourself down. If you cant do it, you cant do it and guess, whatever it is will still be there waiting for you. We have to learn to put ourselves first. To fill our cups, support our body and mind however that look. Resting for you could be, reading a good book, it could be watching tv, a bubble bath, time by yourself. However that looks for you, you must incorporate it into your self-care regime.
- Physical care- Physical care is taking care of your hair, skin, and nails. Getting facials, your hair and nails done is an act of self-care. I am an advocate of self-care and it's my goal that as women we all learn ways to fit ourselves in our life's schedule and that we pay close attention to our body and our health.
